Your Questions Answered by The Healing Herb LLC
Every week in our shop, customers ask us the same great question:
“How are you able to sell these products — and is THCA the same as the THC products sold in legal marijuana states?”
Let’s break it down in a clear, simple way.
What Is THCA?
THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is a natural compound found in raw cannabis and hemp flower. On its own, THCA is not intoxicating — it doesn’t produce the classic “THC effects” until it’s heated (a process called decarboxylation).
This means the flower you see in our shop is technically THCA hemp, not marijuana.
Why THCA Hemp Is Legal in Texas
Texas follows the federal definition of hemp:
✔️ Hemp must contain less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC on a dry-weight basis.✔️ THCA itself does not count toward that limit because it is not Delta-9 THC unless heated.
As long as the lab results (COAs) show compliant Delta-9 levels, the flower is legally classified as hemp, even though it may look and smell identical to marijuana sold in legal states.
That legal classification is exactly how we — and stores across Texas — are able to offer THCA flower and concentrates.
So… Is THCA the Same as THC in Legal States?
Yes and no.
Chemically:
THCA and THC are closely related. When THCA is heated, it converts into THC, the same compound found in marijuana products in legalized states.
Legally:
They are not the same. Legal states regulate cannabis based on its potential THC content, while Texas regulates only the measurable Delta-9 THC level before heating.
That difference in law is why THCA hemp is sold in Texas, while the same flower would be regulated as marijuana somewhere like Colorado.
Why Customers Say the Experience Feels Similar
Because once heated, THCA becomes Delta-9 THC — the exact same molecule found in marijuana. That’s why many people report a similar experience to products they’ve purchased in legal cannabis states.
The product’s legal status may differ, but the plant chemistry after heating is the same.
Why We Take Compliance So Seriously
At The Healing Herb LLC, we follow all Texas hemp regulations to the letter:
Every batch has an up-to-date Certificate of Analysis (COA)
All inventory meets the state’s Delta-9 THC requirements
We source from trusted hemp farms and manufacturers
We verify age (21+) for the purchase of all hemp products
Our goal is to offer safe, legal, high-quality hemp products while helping our community understand the laws that make this possible.
Final Takeaway
THCA flower is legally sold in Texas because it meets the state’s hemp definition.THCA and THC are not identical under the law — but once heated, THCA does convert into THC, which is why the experience can feel so similar to cannabis from legal states.
